This video has really opened my eyes to the impact technology can have in various industries, especially the ones that initially don’t seem to have a natural place for it.
The video below covers how the culinary world merged with computers to create wildly creative dishes that haven’t been made before. If anyone needs a taste tester for something like this, let me know. =)
My newest Googling obsession is the Internet of Things (also known as IoT). It all started by my personal interest in wearable technology and home automation, which then triggered a domino effect of online searches of how widgets are connecting to the internet and its application in various industries, such as energy.
The Ted talk below is a great overview of IoT and how it’s impacting various industries.
One of my favorite childhood memories of coding was during a class project when I was about 8 or 9 years old. I had a dinky metal car wired to a computer, and the assignment was to give it various commands to move it from point A to point B. I loved it. The funny thing is, I specifically remember being surprised that I loved it because a) I didn’t like cars at the time and b) punching a bunch of random commands on a black screen seemed uninteresting. It wasn’t until I witnessed the car moving it hit me what I had just done. A few short years later, I was creating html websites and learning CSS from whatever I could find on Yahoo!.
Today, I don’t code often, but when I do it’s rewarding.
